Your data stays on your device. Period.
Igniwave is a local-first product. We built it this way on purpose. Here is exactly what that means — no vague promises, just specifics.
What we store on your device
Everything in Igniwave lives in your browser's local workspace. That includes:
- Your calendar events, check-ins, and notes
- Your timeline events and derived summaries
- Your AI chat history and memories
- Health metrics from connected devices (sleep, steps, heart rate, stress)
- AI-generated insights
None of this is sent to our servers. It is stored in your browser and stays there unless you choose to export or delete it.
What crosses the network
A small amount of non-content data does cross the network. Here is every case:
- Your login session — an anonymous session token used to identify your browser. No health data is attached to this token.
- Optional waitlist submissions — if you choose to request early access from the marketing site, that form submission goes to our server. It is not part of your in-app local data.
- AI model downloads — the AI software itself is downloaded from a CDN the first time you use it. This is the model file, not your data.
What we never see
These items never leave your device and are never visible to anyone at Igniwave:
- Your chat conversations
- Your calendar notes, check-ins, and observations
- Your AI-generated insights
- Your timeline events
- Your health metrics and wearable data stored in the local timeline
What "local AI" means
When you ask Igniwave's AI a question, the AI model runs inside your browser using your device's GPU. Your question and your data are processed locally — they are not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, or any other AI provider. Nobody at Igniwave reads your conversations.
The AI model is downloaded once to your device (ranging from ~300MB for the fast model to several GB for the quality model) and cached in your browser. After the initial download, the AI works entirely offline.
Data deletion
You can export or delete all your data at any time from the Settings page inside the app. "Delete all local data" wipes everything from your browser storage immediately. There is no cloud backup to delete separately — because there is no cloud backup.
Important: Because your data is stored locally, clearing your browser's storage (or switching to a different browser or device) will remove your Igniwave data. We recommend using the export feature periodically if you want a backup.
Security note
Igniwave is designed around local processing rather than centralized storage. That reduces exposure, but it does not replace good device security practices on the machine you use every day.
Use a trusted device profile, keep your browser updated, and export your local data if you want a separate backup.
